Success Stories
There are a number of examples of companies, community groups and collaborative projects that have successfully reduced the use of toxics in Massachusetts and the generation of toxic byproducts. This section includes information about:

  • Results to date
    A quantitative and graphic look at the state-wide TUR progress made in Massachusetss since 1989.
     
  • Governor's Awards
    Organizations that have received the Governor's Award for Outstanding Achievement in Toxics Use Reduction.
     
  • Company achievements
    A look at some of the companies in Massachusetts that have had great success in TUR, including several TURI demonstration sites.
     
  • Community-based projects
    Examples of some municipal and community efforts to use the TURA data collaboratively with companies and other organizations to improve the overall health of their communities, including organizations that have received TURN grants.
What more can be done? A great deal of progress has been made in reducing the use of toxics and generation of toxic byproducts in Massachusetts but more can be done. Together, communities, companies and individuals can collaborate to achieve even greater reductions.
